The mission of the University of Salerno is to carry out research and training activities, developing collaborative relationships with the territory, respecting the environment, to create, enrich and, at the same time, make available the scientific and cultural heritage at the service of students, businesses, institutions and, more generally, the entire community.

The Lecture Hall, named after Vincenzo Buonocore, is used to hold institutional events (inauguration of the academic year, honorary degree, etc.) and for cultural and scientific conferences and lectures of significant general interest. The capacity is 550 seats with a large foyer for scientific exhibitions and a lower floor equipped for catering.
The University Theatre is a theatrical hall with an audience of 300 seats and a fully equipped stage with a large cinema screen. It also has foyer and dressing rooms for artists.
