In the Italian congress market, where events with less than 300 participants amounted to 97% of the total (data from the Italian Congress Observatory), Salerno is a candidate as a privileged location for 10 good reasons:
- Capital of an extraordinary province, set between the Amalfi Coast and Cilento, it includes places, landscapes, archaeological and natural parks, historical sites that are unique in the world; it is no coincidence that UNESCO has recognized the Amalfi Coast (with its pearls Amalfi, Positano, Ravello), the National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni with the archaeological areas of Paestum and Velia and with the Charterhouse of Padula, the Mediterranean Diet in Pioppi and Acciaroli in its World Heritage List;
- Capital of Italy during the Badoglio government (February 11th – July 15th, 1944), it is a protagonist in history also because its gulf was the scene of the Allied Landing (September 1943);
