Garden of Minerva

There is evidence of the Garden of Minerva dating back to the 12th century, when it belonged to the Silvatico family, who retained ownership for a long time.
One of the descendants, Matteo Silvatico, a member of the Salernitan Medical School, took advantage of the garden’s exceptional microclimate to cultivate plants used in the preparation of medicines.
The staircase, topped by a pergola and connecting the garden’s different levels, is particularly beautiful.

Visiting Hours
The Garden is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, with an additional 30 minutes allowed for visiting after the gate closes.
Weekly closure: Monday

(valid for the Garden of Minerva, the “Roberto Papi” Museum of Surgical Medical Instruments, and the Virtual Museum of the Salernitan Medical School)
Tickets can be purchased at any of the three sites.
FULL PRICE: €6
REDUCED PRICE: €2 – for school groups of all levels (with one free accompanying adult), university students (with student ID), and individual visitors over 70 or under 12 years of age.
