Inside the Town Hall of Salerno, an imposing building overlooking Via Lungomare and Via Roma, is located the Marble Room (Salone dei Marmi). It is covered with wonderful blu, red and golden marbles reproducing the town colours while Pasquale Avallone’s paintings adorne its ceiling.

1944, at the time of the National Unity Government, the Marble Room hosted the first meeting of the Council of Ministers. At the present, Town Council sessions as well as conferences and meetings are held in this room.
